Haven’t been very good with drawing or posting stuff lately
Moana’s out in theaters today!
After animation wrapped on Big Hero, I had the opportunity to help out with design on Moana. One of my assignments was to design the village kids from her island of Motunui. I hoped to bring a sense of authenticity to how they looked, and to make them real for me I thought a lot about watching my little cousins grow up back in the Philippines=)Thankful for them!

I would just like to say fuck you to everyone who made me feel inadequate growing up and ruining my self esteem for years. You all suck and I’m glad I don’t talk to any of you any more.

when you make OCs, and later find out they look kinda like characters from an existing series
When you write/think their stories and later find out they are very similar like characters from an existing series.
When your OCs have been established for years but characters from recent popular shows look very similar to them
yes…
It’s discouraging, yes, but still, please don’t feel like you need to scrap your ideas and OCs.
Because, uh… I forget who said it, and the exact quite, but it was something like… “you have your own unique vision and way of telling the story that only you can tell.”
(… I think it was Neil Gaiman, but I could be wrong.)

Here’s one of the comics from my Nosebleed zine. They’re all similarly dumb.
Don’t forget that my leftover zines (Youths Stuck in Food, Beefcake, and Nosebleed) and my glow-in-the-dark “Phases” prints from CALA go up for sale tomorrow, December 18th, at 1pm PST over here!
